Lauren Kirsch-Furyk, PA-C

Lauren is a dedicated physician assistant specializing in orthopaedic care with over a decade of experience. A South Hills native of Pittsburgh, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University, graduating summa cum laude, before completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Marietta College.

Lauren began her career with South Hills Orthopaedics in upper extremity surgery, where she gained valuable experience managing complex musculoskeletal conditions and working alongside surgeons in both the office and operating room. This foundation gave her a broad understanding of orthopaedic care, including injury management, surgical decision-making, and patient education. Since 2020, she has focused her practice on hip and knee replacement surgery, guiding patients through both surgical and non-surgical treatment options and serving as a trusted partner in their recovery.

She is often among the first providers patients meet. Lauren is actively involved in preoperative evaluations, where she reviews medical history, answers questions, and helps patients prepare for surgery. After surgery, she provides ongoing care, follow-up visits, conservative treatment planning, and joint injections, ensuring that each patient has the resources they need to heal successfully. Known for her approachable style and attention to detail, she helps patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident at every stage of treatment.

In addition to her clinical work, Lauren collaborates with Dr. Perricelli on the regular review and optimization of care protocols to ensure patients benefit from the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices. She has also participated in the annual meetings of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), where she engages in ongoing professional development and the exchange of best practices with colleagues from around the country.

Outside of medicine, Lauren enjoys life in the South Hills with her husband, Chris, and their two boys. She values family, community, and the opportunity to help her patients return to the activities they love most—whether that’s sports, work, hobbies, or time spent with family and friends. Her passion for both patient care and personal connections define her approach and continues to shape her career in orthopaedics.
